All agents play an important role in Valorant. But initiators have a special place in the game. If you’ve always wanted to play with the class, we have the perfect guide for you here.
Initiators have a special role in Valorant and their name explains it: they initiate fights! In class, each character differs greatly from one another, so it’s best to train each agent. Nevertheless, there are basic tips that every initiator should follow.
The five initiator agents in Valorant are:
- Breach
- Skye
- Fade
- Sova
- KAY/O
Attacking properly with initiators in Valorant
As already indicated, initiators are especially in demand on the offensive. With this class, players should always be in the front line and try to take the site. The most important thing is to gather information.
Sova is best suited for this, especially thanks to the owl drone. But also dazzle or suppression abilities, like those of Skye and KAY/O, can expose enemy positions and strategies.

These are the very skills that every Initiator player should become particularly fond of. Blinding enemies is one of the most important tasks of this class, next to reconnaissance. Breach is the best agent for this, almost all of his abilities can blind enemies. Although you should act offensively as an initiator, you are best off in a kind of support role.
This is how you defend with initiators in Valorant
You should know by now that defence is not the focus of this class. Nevertheless, you can achieve quite a bit with the skills already mentioned. The best tip is to defend offensively. Try to spy out the enemies with reconnaissance before they reach your site.
If the site is attacked, you as the initiator can only make a difference with your dazzle skills. This can really annoy the attackers, especially if you have learned your lineups and can use them with perfect timing. Initiator is a tricky class, so it’s really a case of practice, practice, practice!
