Although it can be tough, just about everyone wants to improve their rank. With these tips, we can help you do just that.
The ranking games in VALORANT can be very exhausting. So it’s all the nicer when you achieve a moment of success. But beginners in particular often make mistakes that can easily be avoided. We have collected a few tips that you can use directly in the game, but also outside of it, to improve your ELO.
Warming up also applies to Esport
As in other sports, warming up is important. That means using the training function in VALORANT, playing a round of Death Match or using programmes like Aim Lab to practice and warm up your hitting skills

Building up such a warm-up routine can be very helpful in ranked play. Because by doing so, you train the muscles that are needed for aiming and thus build up a so-called “muscle memory”. It also often saves you some frustration that can come up in the first few games. Playing in before you jump into the Ranked can make you play better and more confidently.
Communicate only what is necessary
The opponent’s position, skills used and strategies – communicating these things with your teammates is especially important in ranked play. However, it is important to remember that not everything has to be said in voice chat.
Information is essential for the course of the game, but if too much unnecessary information is passed on, it will prevent you and your teammates from sorting out and realising the important things. Even the professionals often have problems with this. In voice chat, therefore, make sure that you only pass on important information.
Breaks
Ranked matches can be very tiring both mentally and physically. Therefore, it is helpful to take a break between matches. Jumping from one game to the next can damage your ELO. Especially if you have just lost.
After a game, try to shut down for a short moment to have full energy again for the next game. By doing so, you also do your teammates a favour.
The right mouse sensitivity
The right mouse sensitivity is as important as it is hard to find. It can make a significant difference in your playing style. Finding it, however, is not so easy. The best way to do this is to go to the training area and try something out.
Sensitivity has to feel right for you and can be different for each:n. Even professionals still change their settings frequently, so don’t despair if it takes a while until you feel comfortable. Extra tip: Once you’ve found a sensitivity you like, stick with it and don’t keep switching back and forth. Only with consistency can you build up a decent muscle memory.
Review your own gameplay
Watching your games after the fact is a trick that both casual and professional gamers like to use. This gives you a new perspective on your own style of play and helps you see what is going well, but also where there are still difficulties.
Making a note of these then and putting your focus on them can have a big impact in ranked games. The recommended break can also be used well for this purpose.
