The new Agent Gekko arrived in VALORANT with Episode 6 Act 2. We explain how to get the most out of the Initiator”s abilities.

The new VALORANT act has begun and with it the new agent “Gekko” has found his way into the popular tactical shooter. We have collected some tips on how to get the most out of the initiator”s abilities.

Collect skills again

Gekko can collect his abilities after he has cast them. If he does so, he can use them again after a 10 second cooldown

Wingman and Dizzy can be re-collected and used as many times as you like while Gekko”s Ultimate “Trash” can only be used a maximum of two times per round.

Mosh can only be used once in each round.

Gekko E: Dizzy

Dizzy is Gekko”s flash. However, it does not cover the opponent”s entire field of vision, but merely leaves a large blob of colour on the centre.

Nevertheless, this mechanic has quite a few advantages: You can”t blind yourself, and even enemies who aren”t facing the direction of the ability will be hit by Dizzy.

Dizzy is especially strong when you throw her over a wall or around a corner . This is because as long as an enemy is in Dizzy”s field of vision, they will also be blinded. Accordingly, you can use the ability not only to blind, but also to check where enemies are and whether they might be hiding in corners.

In addition, the radius of the ability is quite large and you can blind enemies who are standing further away.

Keep in mind that the ability can be destroyed before it triggers.

Gekko C: Mosh

Mosh leaves a puddle on the ground that expands and explodes after a short time, causing damage. All enemies that are in the light green area at the time of the explosion suffer 150 damage (full life + armour).

Since the radius of the ability is quite large, Mosh is perfect for Luring enemies out of hiding or preventing a quick push Also, similar to Brimstone or Viper, you have the ability to Disable enemies from disarming the spike

Since the ability does quite a bit of damage when enemies are in the middle of the ability, you can try combining it with other agents” abilities.

By using a Slow Field from Sage or with the help of Fade”s “Grab” ability, you can try to keep your opponents in the green puddle for a longer time.

Mosh cannot be destroyed, unlike Gekko”s other abilities, but he cannot pick it up again after he uses it.

Gekko Q: Wingman

Wingman runs and targets the first opponent he encounters (similar to Raze” Boom Bot). When he reaches the opponent, he explodes. In doing so he shakes his target (similar to Breach”s E) and uncovers it.

Furthermore, your little buddy can place and disarm the Spike for you

Yet you should think before you send Wingman off with the spike. If you”re unlucky, your buddy will be destroyed by your enemies and the spike will be left in the middle of the spot.

Try not to use Wingman alone, but as a support mechanic while pushing a spot.

Tricks with Wingman:

  • You can use the ability to find out if it is a Yoru clone. Wingman only reacts to “real” agents and would therefore only target the real Yoru and rush towards him. This way you could avoid a nasty flash in some situations.
  • With Wingman you can also destroy Sage”s walls faster. If you send the little guy out and there”s a wall in his path, he”ll run into it until it breaks.

Gekko X: Trash

For his Ultimate, Gekko connects with Trash.

Similar to Skye”s dog, you can control Trash and jump on enemies with it. If enemies are hit by Trash, they will be incapacitated for a short time, just like Killjoy”s Ult
