VALORANT and LoL developer Riot Games may be planning a console variant of the popular first-person shooter. Designers in particular are being sought as employees.

That VALORANT will appear on console was already confirmed in September 2020. Given the current success of the tactical shooter, it would be no surprise that Riot Games would want to make the game available on all platforms. The topic had been relatively quiet in recent months. But two new job ads recently posted online by the developer are fuelling the rumour mill again.

Riot Games is hiring new staff, specifically referencing two job postings for “Senior Game Designer, Console – VALORANT”. These job descriptions fuel the already planned plans for the first-person shooter to appear on console.

The Twitter account “Mike – VALORANT Leaks & Info” drew attention to the job ads on Sunday. They do indeed exist on the (job search page of Riot Games). While it is not confirmed on which consoles VALORANT will be available, speculation is that the new generations of PlayStation and Xbox would be predestined for it. Details on possible platforms are still missing, as is a possible launch date.

Many fans of the game have been discussing the implementation of a console port for VALORANT for months. The topic of Aim Assist is very much in focus, as is the impact on cross play, which is often compared with regard to Call of Duty games and Warzone.
