VALORANT Premier – Everything you need to know about the Beta

Premier, the tournament mode in VALORANT, will enter its first global beta phase this month. Find out when it starts, what’s up for grabs, and much more here.

Similar to League of Legends, VALORANT now has a tournament mode that anyone can participate in. In Premier you can compete with your team against other teams of 5, win small prizes and even qualify for the VCT Challenger Leagues.

VALORANT Premier – When do we start?

On Twitter, the official VALORANT account announced that Premier will be released everywhere after the 2023 VCT Champions. Before that, there will be two global beta testing phases.

  • April 25: Launch of the first global open beta
    • Registration: Starting April 25.
    • Weekly matches: April 29 to May 20
    • Playoff tournament: May 21
  • July 2023: Second Premier Beta Phase.
  • August 2023: Global launch of Premier tournament mode

VALORANT Premier: How the beta works

To participate in VALORANT Premier you need to:

  • have verified your account via SMS
  • have completed your Ranked Placement games (no matter in which act)
  • have a team consisting of at least 5 players (max. 7)

How does matchmaking work in Premier? 

  • Your team will be sorted into one of 20 divisions. The skill level depends on the MMR of your top five players.

How many matches can you play as a team?

  • There are a total of two weekly matches where you can earn points for your Premier Score
  • Your Premier Score will determine if you qualify for the playoffs in your division.
  • If you make it to the playoffs you can play for the title of champion of your division

What rewards are there in VALORANT Premier? 

  • When you become champion of your division you will win both a Player Card and the title “Premier Beta Champion”.
  • If you have played at least one game in tournament mode, you will still receive the title “Premier Beta” and a Player Card
