Twitching lightning and powerful shock spells: This shaman unleashes a devastating thunderstorm on his opponents.
The elemental shaman is a ranged fighter in WoW Shadowlands and focuses on dealing damage. Those who prefer melee combat will get their money’s worth with the Enhancement Shaman, while healers will reach for the Restoration Shaman.
The most important changes
The Chain Healing, Healing River Totem, and Flaming Tongue Weapon skills are now available. The former Lightning Bolt Shield talent is now included as a normal spellcasting ability.
The Elemental Fury passive ability adds 250% more damage to critical hits and 200% more healing to critical hits and healing, respectively. Your Fire Elemental deals 25% faster damage with Flame Shock, and new uses run 100% longer.
Earthquake damage has been reduced, but the passive talent Aftershock now interacts with Earthquake in addition to Earthshock and grants a chance to refund spent Maelstrom.
Static Discharge is a new talent at level 15 with a 30 second cooldown. You must have Lightning Bolt Shield active to use it. It discharges excess energy from the shield onto an enemy. Prioritize targets that are affected by Flame Shock.
Reverberating Shock is a new level 25 talent. This shocks the target with elemental damage and creates an ancestral echo. The echo causes a second cast of a damage or healing spell to occur for free one second after your next use of the spell.
How to play the Elemental Shaman
As an elemental shaman, your attribute prioritization should be as follows:
- Intelligence
- Versatility
- Critical hit chance
- Speed
- Mastery
At the beginning of the fight, cast Flame Shock on the target. Be sure to always have the Fire DoT of it active on the target.
Cast a Lightning Bolt boosted with Stormkeeper when Master of Elements is active. Use Resounding Shock if you have at least 60 Maelstrom or can cast Lava Eruption after it. If you have more than 60 Maelstrom, use Earth Shock.
You cast Lava Eruption whenever it is available and Flame Shock is already active on the target. This allows Lava Eruption to hit critically. To build up Maelstrom, use Lightning Bolt. Don’t forget to boost your Lightning Strike with the Stormkeeper talent. If you need to move around a lot, use Frost Shock instead.
Stage | Talent | Description |
---|---|---|
15 | Earthen Rage | Your damage spells cause the earth around you to rush to your aid for six seconds, repeatedly dealing 142 nature damage to your last attacked target. |
25 | Echoing Shock | Shocks the target with 671 elemental damage, creating an Echo of the Ancestors that lets your next damage or healing spell cast a second time for free one second later. |
30 | Spirit Wolf | While transformed into a Ghost Wolf, every second your movement speed and damage reduction is increased by 5%. Stackable up to four times. |
35 | Master of the Elements | Lava Eruption increases the damage of your next Nature, Frost, or Physical spell by 20%. |
40 | Nature’s Guardian | When your health drops below 35%, you are instantly healed by 20% of your maximum health. This effect can only occur once every 45 seconds. |
45 | Primal Elemetalist | Your earth, fire, and storm elementals come from primal elements that are 80% more powerful than ordinary elementals and have additional abilities. You also gain direct control over them. |
50 | Stormkeeper | Charge with Lightning so that your next two uses of Lightning Bolt deal 150% more damage, and your next two uses of Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning Bolt become spontaneous spells and cause Elemental Overload on any target. |
Against multiple targets, use Earthquake if you have more than 60 Maelstrom. Use Chain Lightning Strike to build up Maelstrom. For offensive cooldown, you can summon your Earth or Fire elemental. You also have Battle Frenzy/Heroism at your disposal.
