From now on you can farm more Anima – but there is a catch. We explain what Blizzard has changed with the new hotfix.
It’s not just the storyline of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands that is lacking anima: Many players are also currently lacking the resource, as it is needed for all kinds of things in the current expansion. This is causing a lot of frustration in the WoW community.
After Blizzard already increased the number of Anima drops a few weeks ago and received a lot of positive feedback for it, now comes the next coup: You can get even more of the valuable resource from now on – but there’s a catch.
More Anima: Here’s how it works
In the future, you’ll get a bigger Anima reward for all unusual and rare activities. This includes completed world quests, completed missions from the mission table, PvP battles, Mythic+ dungeons, and raids.
Not for everyone, though! Those who want to benefit from the increased Anima drops must first invest a large amount of Anima into their Sanctum to complete one of three new Achievements:
Out of the Ruins: Upgrade all four Pact upgrades to level 1.
Drought? What drought?: Build out all four Pact upgrades to level 2.
Sancturm Sanctorum: Complete all four pact upgrades to level 3.
For each Achievement completed, the Anima earned per activity will increase by 35. However, these Achievements are not tied to your account, but to the specific character. So you have to farm the achievements again with each of your twinks.
You can see how this works in various cases in the following table:
Aktivität | Underlying | 1. Achievement | 2. Achievement | 3. Achievement |
---|---|---|---|---|
Mythic + (Low level) | 35 Anima | 70 Anima | 105 Anima | 140 Anima |
Mythic + (Medium level) | 70 Anima | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima |
Mythic + (High level) | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima | 210 Anima |
Nathria Castle – Bosses 1 to 8 | 105 Anima | 140 Anima | 175 Anima | 210 Anima |
Nathria Castle – bosses 9 and 10 | 175 Anima | 210 Anima | 245 Anima | 280 Anima |
Fans are still not satisfied
Even though the change only brings advantages for players, many fans are still not satisfied. After all, you need several hundred thousand anima to be able to treat yourself to all the nice goodies, from mounts to weapon templates, at the pact dealer you trust.
“In reality, that’s not an increase at all.”
“Cool, so all I have to do is endlessly grind Anima to slowly get everything up to lvl 3 and get a little boost that way.”
“It’s not enough. People are leaving the game. Reward them with reasonable rewards for their time.”
“Something people have been complaining about for months and have only been met with radio silence is being addressed with a hotfix and only affects those who have unlocked their Sanctum features? Really now? I’m happy for the people who are still grinding Anima, but I would have liked this months ago before I burned out and quit playing.”
