With the pre-patch 9.0.1. there are big changes in the healer ranking – two classes benefit, but there is a big loser.
Originally, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands would have been released today, October 27. However, the expansion has been postponed to an as yet undetermined date in 2020. Nevertheless, thanks to the pre-patch 9.0.1, this is the perfect time to (re)enter WoW:
With which class is it currently worth starting the game? After we last looked at the best DPS classes in Shadowlands Pre-Patch, today we take a look at the strongest healers.
The best healers in WoW: Shadowlands Pre-Patch
The pre-patch has been online for two weeks now, numerous guilds and other groups have since completed the Ny’alotha mythic raid again and uploaded their collected damage and healing stats to Warcraftlogs.com. The site then analyzes these numbers and uses them to create a ranking. As this now shows, two builds have particularly benefited from the pre-patch.
The winners of the pre-patch
Holy Priest
This priest class has benefited the most from the pre-patch. This is mainly due to the new talent Prayer Circle: This lets the priest cast the spell Prayer of Healing 25 percent faster for 8 seconds after using Circle of Healing – paired with the azerite power Prayer Litany, the Holy Priest can pump out huge amounts of healing in a short time.
He also benefits from the fact that many bosses in the raid now die faster: With Hymn of God and Benediction: Redemption, the Priest has two powerful raid cooldowns at his disposal, while other specs can often only cast one of these powerful spells due to cooldowns.
Restoration Shaman
Unlike the Holy Priest, the Shaman healer class has received a few straight buffs. The Spring Tide, Chain Heal, Wave of Healing, and Healing Rain spells are now simply 10 to 30 percent stronger than before, but they also cost a bit more mana. However, since the shaman has enough ways to restore it, the increased consumption is not currently a problem.
The big loser of the pre-patch: Holy Paladin
The Platebearer was considered the best healer before the pre-patch because he particularly benefited from the corruption – it allowed him to use the Wrathful Retribution buff, which increases total healing by 20 percent, more often than normal. With the removal of Corruption, the Paladin loses this boost and now sits at the bottom of the healer rankings.
The Paladin also suffers from the fact that boss fights are now shorter and many tanks take less damage, so he can’t take full advantage of Wrathful Retribution and a lot of healing goes to waste as so-called overheal.
Before you make your final choice and possibly level up a completely new character, you should note that the healing values shown will almost certainly change again with the release update of Shadowlands, because the maximum level will then increase to 60 and the Covenant Skills will be added.
