World of Warcraft: The War Withinis just around the corner and a DPS meta has slowly emerged over the course of the beta. As always, there are winners and losers among the specializations, and our ranking shows you which classes are currently ahead
In this article, we take a look atthe best DPS specializationsin patch 11.0.2 and highlight the top 3 that are particularly promising for the first season of Mythic+.
Tier List: The best DPS classes for Mythic+ Season 1
Table of Contents
1st Augmentation Evoker / Augmentation Caller
The Augmentation Evoker remains a class to keep an eye on in the first season of The War Within. This specialization was already strong in Dragonflight, but with the new talents and the revised tier set bonus, the damage possibilities have improved even further
The ability to boost both your own DPS and your party members with powerful buffs is particularly impressive. The new tier set massively increases the damage of Upheaval and Eruption, making the Evoker’s already powerful burst phase even more effective.
With additional defensive options and excellent mobility, the Augmentation Evoker is an excellent choice for any Mythic+ group.
2. Frost Death Knight
The Frost Death Knight has undergone many positive changes in the beta phase of The War Within and is now one of the best Melee specializations in the game. Thanks to new talents and a strong tier set, the Frost DK is not only extremely strong in terms of burst, but also in terms of continuous damage.
The rework of the talent tree has further improved the defensive options and group utility, making him a great choice for high Mythic+ keystones. Especially in groups that benefit from his AoE and single target damage, the Frost Death Knight is a reliable choice.
3. assassination rogue
The Assassination Rogue is also among the elite DPS specializations in Patch 11.0.2. Its ability to deal strong single-target damage is unmatched, and even in high keystones it remains a force to be reckoned with.
The new tier set and talents significantly boost poison damage, making the Assassin Rogue shine especially in longer battles. Added to this are the excellent defensive options and the powerful group utility, which make the rogue an indispensable member of any Mythic+ group
Other strong DPS classes
In addition to these top 3, there are other specializations that will do well in the first season of The War Within. TheElemental Shamanshines with its strong AoE damage and newfound versatility thanks to fresh talents and reworks.
TheArcane Mage, who belongs to the so-calledGod-Comp
thanks to his high burst potential and strong group utility in combination with the Augmentation Evoker, is also a reliable choice.
In addition, classes such as theDemonology Warlockand theFuror Warrioroffer solid damage potential, but without the superiority of the top specializations. TheUnholy Death Knightand theWindwalker Monkalso benefit from significant reworks that make them good options, even if they don’t quite play in the top tier.
The Tier List isn’t everything
Finally, it is important to emphasize that placement on this tier list is not everything.
How well you master your hero and the composition of your party play a vital role, and any class can be successful in the right hands. A well-played Frost Mage will definitely be more effective than someone who regularly knots their fingers with the demanding Arcane rotation.
While the top 3 classes are a strong choice that will make finding a party easier at times, don’t be afraid to play a specialization that you enjoy the most – even if it’s not in the top tier.
